International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Bristol UK – Editorial Photography
Recently I had the opportunity of taking on some international projects in England.
Working with the team at PPM photography I found myself flying high above the English country side with the green fields and blazing sunshine stretching off in to the horizon, Just a truly stunning sight!
The opportunity to get up into the sky's doesn't present itself all that often so I jumped at the chance of getting a media accredited flight.
Even with the 3am wakeup call 😉 and hour long drive to the Ashton Court Balloon Fiesta site in the West Country, Bristol.
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is now in its 36th year and is Europe’s largest ballooning event.
The event features four days of colourful hot-air balloon displays, attracting over half a million visitors to the scenic grounds of Ashton Court. Balloons of all shapes and sizes lift off over the City of Bristol with hundreds taking off every hour!

The Nightglows are definitely a must see. 30 ballooning teams take centre stage whilst lighting up their tethered balloons as night falls to a backdrop of music and spectacular fireworks.
These images where originally photographed for national news agency coverage but most are available through the Alamy stock photography site – link at the bottom of this page.
I spent two days there on and off so was able to capture some really interesting shots both of the morning take off's and evening night glows! just a great experience to have, perhaps I'll find my self there again in the future.
If you get the opportunity do check out the Balloon fiesta / festival.
